SEE Cinema Network at the 65th Thessaloniki International Film Festival

Today, Thursday 31 October 2024, marks the start of the 65th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, one of the most prestigious and longevous film festivals of the South Eastern Europe region. This year, we are beyond excited to announce that 2 projects previously supported by SEE Cinema Network are part of the festival’s eclectic film catalogue: LUNA PARK by Florenc Papas and INK WASH by Sarra Tsorakidis!

Ink Wash competes in the “Meet the Neighbors+” section. Do not miss Ink Wash on Wednesday 6 November at 17.00 (Stavros Tornes Hall) or Thursday 7 November at 16:00 (John Cassavetes Hall).

Luna Park is screened under the “Survey Expanded: Un-Family-ar” section. You can experience the film on Monday 4 November at 21:00 (Pavlos Zannas Hall) and Wednesday 6 November at 17.00 (Makedonikon Cinema).

Also, on Wednesday 6 November, the members off SEE Cinema Network will be gathered for their 37th General Assembly where the recipients of the 2024 Funding Round will be selected. Winners will be announced during the TiFF65 Agora Awards later that day.

‘Planet 7693’ by Gojko Berkuljan has its official festival premiere

Great news for the family film PLANET 7693, directed by Gojko Berkuljan! On October 12th, the official festival premiere of the project will take place during the 20th Kids Fest in Serbia. Soon, the film will also be released nationwide in the Montenegrin cinemas.

A synopsis of ‘Planet 7693’:
Luka lives with his quite harmonious and pleasant family in a very interesting neighborhood in the suburbs. During a turbulent period, big misunderstandings and conflicts start to emerge within the family. Left alone, Luka immerses himself in fiction, trying to find a solution for all the problems.

Planet 7693 was a recipient of the 2021 Funding Round support of SEE Cinema Network.

Congratulations to the creative team and crew behind the film and we wish them great success towards reaching a wide audience of many ages, both nationally and internationally.

‘Don’t Let Me Die’ by Andrei Epure enters post-production

We have an exciting update for the upcoming project by Andrei Epure, titled Don’t Let Me Die (Nu ma lasa sa mor). The feature film has already entered its post-production stage and is bound to be completed by the end of the year.

Filming was completed within 26 days during February/March 2024, mostly set at the Romanian Black Sea.

Don’t Let Me Die, Epure’s feature film directorial debut, was among the SEE Cinema Network 2023 Funding Round recipients.

SEE Cinema Network wants to congratulate the team for its efficient work and wishes all the best for its remaining steps towards international distribution.

SEE Cinema Network announces its 2023 Funding Round recipients

During 36th General Assembly on November 8th in Thessaloniki, coinciding with the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, SEE Cinema Network unveiled a total funding of €63,000 for its 2023 Funding Round candidates. The selected projects were announced officially during the Agora Awards of the Festival.

Each awarded project will receive 9000€ in funding for its development purposes.
