DON’T LET ME DIE by Andrei Epure receives 9 nominations at the 20th Gopo Awards

After its very impressive festival and theatrical run, Don’t Let Me Die, the debut feature film by Andrei Epure, is now a major contender at the 20th Gopo Awards, securing 9 nominations, including Best Feature Film.

The Gopo Awards are the national Romanian film awards, honouring the best Romanian cinematic achievements of the previous year. Trophies are awarded after the vote of more than 600 professionals from all sectors of the domestic film industry. They select the nominees in each competitive category, previously nominated by a jury of personalities in the field.

Don’t Let Me Die has received the following nominations:
● Best Feature Film
● Best Debut Film
● Best Director for Andrei Epure
● Best Actress for Cosmina Stratam
● Best Supporting Actress for Ozana Oancea
● Best Screenplay for Andrei Epure & Ana Gheorghe
● Best Cinematography for Laurențiu Răducanu
● Best Sound for Nathalie Vidal
● Best Original Music for Dale Cooper Quartet & The Dictaphones

Winners will be announced at the 20th Anniversary Gopo Awards Gala on May 4, 2026, at the National Theatre in Bucharest.

The film is produced by Saga Film, with co-production by Handplayed, Tomsa Films, Arrogant Films and Conceptual Lab by Theo Nissim. It has received funding support from SEE CINEMA NETWORK during its 2023 Funding Round, as well as through the Romanian Film Centre and the Bulgarian National Film Center.

SEE Cinema Network Announces the 2025 Funding Round Recipients

On Friday 7 November 2025, SEE Cinema Network unveiled a total funding of €72,000 for its 2025 Funding Round candidates, during its 38th General Assembly in Thessaloniki, coinciding with the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival.

Each awarded project will receive 9.000€ in funding for its development purposes.

DJ Ahmet Wins at 31st SFF & IFF ART Film 2025

An impressive update for DJ Ahmet, the debut feature film of Georgi Unkovski. Soon after announcing its sales in over 15 territories worldwide, it received 2 wins at the 31st Sarajevo Film Festival (Special Youth Perspectives Award, Cineuropa Prize). The film previously received distinctions during the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and scored 3 major wins at IFF Art Film 2025 in its International Competition Section (Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor).

It was also recebtly announced that the film will participate at the 38th edition of the Montenegro Film Festival, competing in the International Feature section.

DJ Ahmet is bound to open in Hungarian cinemas on August 28th and it is scheduled to premiere in various other countries in the coming months.

’17’ by Kosara Mitic Wins at CineLink Work In Progress Awards of 31st SFF

The latest project of Kosara Mitic, ’17’ has just received a great recognintion during the latest Sarajevo Film Festival. As part of the Work In Progress Awards, It was awarded 30,000€ in post-production services from company Avanpost Media towards the film’s completion.

Kosara Mitic, the project’s director, presented the film and accepted the award, which was part of the 23rd CineLink Industry Days, the industry section of the 31st Sarajevo Film Festival.

A recepient of our 2022 Funding Round, ’17’ is strongly entering its festival circuit and having a bold presence in international film markets and industry events.

We congratulate Ms Mitić and all the team for bringing forward an impressive result. We eagerly anticipate for a swift completion and subsequent festival run and theatrical distribution.

DJ Ahmet Aimed for Theatrical Release; Sold to 15+ Territories

DJ Ahmet, the debut feature film of Georgi Unkovski, has managed to secure film sales in more than 15 territories globally by Berlin-based company Films Boutique.

This news comes shortly after its impressive run at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, where it garnered both the World Cinema Dramatic Audience Award and Special Jury Award for Creative Vision.

A co-production between North Macedonia, Czech Republic, Croatia and Serbia, it is slated to have its Hungarian premiere on 28 August 2025. Other scheduled theatrical relases include the Czech Republic (4 September 2025), Turkey (31 October 2025), Sweden (5 December 2025), UK & Ireland (early 2026), Norway (27 March 2026), Switzerland (1 April 2026) and Denmark (9 April 2026).

An astounding achievement for a very deserving film. Congratulations are in order for all the team behind the creative process and distribution management.

SEE Cinema Network at the 65th Thessaloniki International Film Festival

Today, Thursday 31 October 2024, marks the start of the 65th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, one of the most prestigious and longevous film festivals of the South Eastern Europe region. This year, we are beyond excited to announce that 2 projects previously supported by SEE Cinema Network are part of the festival’s eclectic film catalogue: LUNA PARK by Florenc Papas and INK WASH by Sarra Tsorakidis!

Ink Wash competes in the “Meet the Neighbors+” section. Do not miss Ink Wash on Wednesday 6 November at 17.00 (Stavros Tornes Hall) or Thursday 7 November at 16:00 (John Cassavetes Hall).

‘Ink Wash’ by Sarra Tsorakidis wins at the 40th Warsaw International Film Festival

Another major achievement for the movie INK WASH by Sarra Tsorakidis. The film was recently awarded the prestigious FIPRESCI Award for Best Debut from Eastern Europe of the 40th Warsaw International Film Festival by FIPRESCI Jury members Alessandro Amato (IT), Leo Ortuno (FR), Marcin Radomski (PL).

After its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and its European premiere at Warsaw, the film will soon be shown at the 65th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (TiFF), one of the most prominent film festivals of South Eastern Europe. Ink Wash will be a part of the Meet The Neighbors+ competition section of the festival.

SEE Cinema Network wholeheartedly congratulates the creative and producing team of Ink Wash for its indeniably successful festival run and wishes for many more accomplishments to come. The project was proudbly supported by the Network during its 2022 Funding Round.

Major achievements for ‘WATERDROP’ by Robert Budina

This awards season is coming off to a great start for the SEE CINEMA NETWORK-supported project, WATERDROP by Robert Budina.

A recipient of the 2022 Funding Round support, it just had its national premiere in Albania on 12 September and now, it is officially selected to be the Albanian submission to be considered for the International Feature Film category of the upcoming 97th Academy Awards. The film is also slated to have its international premiere during the International Competition section of the 40th Warsaw Film Festival, one of the most prestigious film festivals in the Central and Eastern European region.

Our Network wants to congratulate the team behind Waterdrop for their incredible achievements so far and wish them great success in their ongoing festival and cinematic run.

Embryo Larva Butterfly receives 4 nominations at Iris Awards 2024

Embryo Larva Butterfly, a film proudly supported by SEE Cinema Network, is a 4-time nominee at this year’s Iris Awards organized by the Hellenc Film Academy.

The Network wants to sincerely congratulate everyone involved in the making of the film and helping achieve great recognition in various fields, as observed in its nominations and wins in various events, including the very prestigious Iris Awards.
