DON’T LET ME DIE by Andrei Epure set to premiere during the 78th Locarno Film Festival

Locarno Film Festival just announced its lineup for the Cineasti del Presente and Piazza Grande sections. Among the former, we find Don’t Let Me Die by Romanian director Andrei Epure. The film is set to have its world premiere during the 78th edition of the festival, which is one of the most popular European and global film events that attracts over 150,000 spectators on a yearly basis.

The film was among the 2023 Funding Round awardees of SEE Cinema Network. A co-production between Romania (Saga Film), Bulgaria (Handplayed) and France (Tomsa Films), it has received, among other distinctions, national funding support from all three countries. World sales are being handled by Lights On.

We want to congratulate the film’s producers and crew on their astounding work and express our excitement for the upcoming premiere of ‘Don’t Let Me Die’. We hope that this will be the starting point of a successful festival run and a forthcoming wide theatrical release to international audiences.

‘Spring Cleaning’ by Marija Apcevska selected for funding through HFAC

Hellenic Audiovisual and Film Center – Creative Greece (HFAC) recently announced its funding pre-approvals under its Minority Co-production scheme.

Among the selected awardees, SPRING CLEANING by Marija Apcevska is confirmed to receive 65,000€ for its co-production purposes. The film’s delegate producer is North Macedonian company Kino Oko. Its Greek co-producer is Foss Productions.

Spring Cleaning was among the 2023 Funding Round recipients of SEE Cinema Network. Additionally, the project has previously received funding support through the Creative Europe MEDIA programme of the European Commission.

SEE Cinema Network congratulates the team behind Spring Cleaning for another major milestone for the completion of a strong film project from South Eastern Europe. We eagerly await for any exciting update and the eventual release of the film in the near future.

‘Resonance’ by Yordan Petkov completes filming; enters post-production

Yordan Petkov’s feature debut RESONANCE has finished its principal photography. The project was shot in 22 days near Sofia, Bulgaria between July and August 2024 and is currently being edited in Athens, Greece. Post-production is slated to be complete by May 2025.

The story of the film follows an hermit on a mission and an ambitious young policeman, who find themselves strangely entangled by the howling sirens of a malfunctioning Early Warning System. The end of the world, however, is a solitary occupation.

A co-production between Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey, Resonance was supported by SEE Cinema Network under the 2023 Funding Round. The Network congratulates the team behind the creation for the most efficient evolution of the projects and wishes best of luck regarding its completion, in anticipation of its first steps towards international distribution.

Embryo Larva Butterfly wins at the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival

Embryo Larva Butterfly won 2 awards at the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, as it was announced yesterday during the award ceremony. The film is supported by SEE Cinema Network.

Embryo Larva Butterfly received distinctions in the following categories:

  • Fischer Audience Award (Film Forward competition program)
  • Best Original Score ERT

SEE Cinema Network announces its 2023 Funding Round recipients

During 36th General Assembly on November 8th in Thessaloniki, coinciding with the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, SEE Cinema Network unveiled a total funding of €63,000 for its 2023 Funding Round candidates. The selected projects were announced officially during the Agora Awards of the Festival.

Each awarded project will receive 9000€ in funding for its development purposes.
