7th Balkan Can Kino Film Symposium hosts Special Screening of Short Films supported by SEE Cinema Network

SEE Cinema Network is coming to the 7th Balkan Can Kino Film Symposium which takes place from 24-27 October 2024 in Athens, Greece.

Among its many events, a very Special Screening of recent short films by female filmmakers from South Eastern Europe is scheduled for this Sunday, 27 October 2024 at ZOOTROPE (Kimolou 17, Athens 11362). All films have received funding support from SEE Cinema Network.

The theme of escaping (from) reality is the imaginary thread that connects the four distinct short fiction stories in this special screening. Against the tension and fascination of the unknown, the elements of nature, the planet itself and the natural environment in all its glory -the sea, the forest, the water, the sky, the stars- are juxtaposed. Other times acting symbolically and magically, other times as a canvas of images and landscapes with humans in the foreground, these elements highlight the intensity of emotions and the relationships between the protagonists: be it friendship, brotherly and sisterly love, the love between partners or desire.

The films shown in this screening are the following:

  • To The Moon And Back (2018) by Stelana Kliris, 11′
  • Life Lasts Three Days (2017) by Katarina Koljevic, 28′
  • Only The Devil Hates Water (2022) by Lidija Mojsovska, 17’
  • To Vancouver (2021) by Artemis Anastasiadou, 23′

There is free entrance to all activities and screenings of the film symposium. Find out more information here,
