Major achievements for ‘WATERDROP’ by Robert Budina

This awards season is coming off to a great start for the SEE CINEMA NETWORK-supported project, WATERDROP by Robert Budina.

A recipient of the 2022 Funding Round support, it just had its national premiere in Albania on 12 September and now, it is officially selected to be the Albanian submission to be considered for the International Feature Film category of the upcoming 97th Academy Awards. The film is also slated to have its international premiere during the International Competition section of the 40th Warsaw Film Festival, one of the most prestigious film festivals in the Central and Eastern European region.

Our Network wants to congratulate the team behind Waterdrop for their incredible achievements so far and wish them great success in their ongoing festival and cinematic run.

‘Ink Wash’ by Sarra Tsorakidis will have its world premiere during the 2024 TIFF

SEE Cinema Network goes to… Toronto! 🍁

The 49th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) announced its 2024 Discovery programme. Among the selected films for participation, Ink Wash, the feature-film directorial debut of Sarra Tsorakidis, will have its world premiere during the section.

The 49th edition of TIFF will be held from 5-15 September 2024.

An international co-production between Romania (Mandragora), Greece (Bad Crowd) and Denmark (Angel Films) Ink Wash was also among the recipients of the 2022 Funding Round of SEE Cinema Network.

Another great accomplishment for a film proudly supported by our Network – we want to sincerely congratulate the team behind Ink Wash and we wish for many more recognitions to come!

SEE Cinema Network at the 5th Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days (19 April 2024)

Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days 2024 is the co-production, training and networking platform of the 22nd Cyprus Film Days International Film Festival. The 5th edition of Dot.on.the.Map Industry Days will be held between 18–20 April 2024 in the sunny city of Limassol, Cyprus.

SEE Cinema Network will be there. Come join us this Friday, April 19 at at Rialto Theatre for a panel discussion around the strengthening of the South Eastern European film industry through regional collaboration. Our team is more than excited to present you the benefits of funding support from SEE Cinema Network as well as answer all of your questions.

We want to sincerely thank the festival team for the invitation and we cannot wait to experience firsthand the many networking opprtunities this year’s edition has in store!

Also, among the 8 projects selected to participate in the pitching sessions of the co-production forum, Dot.on.the.Map Meeting Point, we can find Four Funerals and a Wedding, our Montenegrin funding recipient of the 2023 Round. The project is directed by Nikola Mijovic and produced by Maja Kecojevic (co-producers: Pavle Vuckovic, Stefan Mladenovic, Vladimir Anastasov and Angela Nestorovska). Production companies: Parangal Film, Plan 9, Sektor Film.

Congratulations to the team of the project and we hope to be a very fruitful experience towards its completion.
